Richard Cottingham, owner of Tysons Auto Specialties has 35 years of experience in the automotive service industry. He graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute in 1984. While there, he studied all aspects of automotive service and repair. Richard received his first ASE master mechanic certification in 1985 and has maintained it ever since. Richard’s first years as a mechanic were spent at Rockholt Auto Service in Herndon. Richard then came to Tysons Auto Specialties in the spring of 1991 where he worked as a line mechanic. He was promoted to shop foreman, and then to shop manager in 2001. Since 2001 Richard has been in charge of all aspects of operating Tysons Auto Specialties, including diagnostics, training, and customer service. As the new owner of Tysons Auto Specialties, Richard truly appreciates all the loyal customer support he has received and will always be concerned with quality service and customer satisfaction.
